Welcome to the Paranormal Observers Division website and forum, serving Okaloosa County and the surrounding areas. We are simply a group of paranormal research enthusiasts that enjoy studying reports of paranormal activity. We investigate claims of hauntings as well as claims of possible creature sightings. John, founder and director of POD, is a former law enforcement officer with extensive investigative experience. He is also the former owner of Varmint Stalkers LLC, a humane nuisance animal removal company, making him an expert at animal damage identification and animal behavior recognition which aids in investigating claims of strange animal/crypto sightings.
These days, you will find a slew of investigation teams claiming to use scientific methods to help you solve a possible haunting. We differ slightly in that we don't present changes in temperature or electromagnetic fields as evidence. We don't believe that proves anything other than environmental fluctuations. We look for significant evidence such as EVPs or object manipulation to prove our cases. This usually means that we don't have as much to talk about, but in the end we won't waste your time with things that don't prove anything to you.
Another way that we differ is that we don't begin to try to explain why a presence is in your home. The truth is, nobody could possibly have any idea as to why something is hanging around unless it tells us, and that is an extremely rare occurrence. What we do is document activity, then present it to you. This does two things for you: it confirms your suspicions, and allows a third party to record the activity and present it to our audience. Sometimes these things lead to clues as to who or what is causing you trouble, other times it just helps to assure you that you aren't imagining things.
Our investigations are conducted in a professional and respectful manner. We show up, investigate, report, then leave the residence as it was when we got there. We are also discreet, driving our personal vehicles without organization decals. When we post our reports to the website you can request to remain anonymous and we will strictly honor that request. Ultimately, we aim to help you with your suspicions, not cause you greater stress.
