EVPs come in many different quality levels, with most of them being low quality. In order to classify the different quality levels, a classification system was created and is widely used in this field.

Class A- These are the good ones. These are the EVP equivalent of a full body apparition. Clear and concise, without the need of “cleaning up” with an editing program.

Class B- Lower quality than A, but still intelligible with minimal enhancements. Many investigators believe these to be the most common, but I don’t believe this to be the case.

Class C- Extremely low quality, needing a lot of editing and will still be open to interpretation. In my opinion, this is the most common EVP captured.

I don’t use this system as I have found no purpose behind it. If you can understand the EVP without making it sound like whatever you want to hear, then you have a good find. If you have edited it into submission and most people don’t agree to what it sounds like without you telling them what you think, you can throw it out in my opinion.

Either way, if you think you have found something get it checked out. It is up to you to decide how you interpret things.
